Karen Crouse | Norwich: One Tiny Town's Secret to Happiness and Excellence

k crouseNew York Times reporter Karen Crouse moved to the Upper Valley to explore the lives of Norwich Olympians past and present to discover why our small Vermont town has possibly produced more Olympians per capita than any other place in the country.

Karen Crouse is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where she earned a varsity letter in swimming. She started her newspaper career at the Savannah News-Press, where she was the first woman to grace the sports department, and worked at seven other dailies before being hired by the New York Times in 2005.

“Brimming with community-building ideas that transcend sports, this book challenges the current overextended, high-pressure world of youth athletics and provides the tools to help foster a positive, hometown-based alternative. Highly recommended.” -Janet Davis, Library Journal
