2/8 Second Saturday - Tracey Campbell Pearson

On Saturday February 8th, Tracey Campbell Pearson will join us at the Norwich Public Library for fun Valentine's Day related art projects and an introduction to her new book Elephant's Story.

Elephant's Story is the highly praised new picture book all about Gracie and her friend the Elephant who accidentally inhales all the letters from her book and the adventure they have to take to get them back.

Visit the Book Jam Blog for an entertaining interview with the author!

Each Second Saturday of the month, the Norwich Bookstore and the Norwich Public Library are collaborating on a series of book-related fun events for children. We will invite authors and illustrators from around the region to talk about their work and what inspires them. Or we will create an event around a book's theme or characters. These will be informal gatherings to gather with friends and participate in an activity built around the theme of the book. Mark your calendars and plan to stop by the bookstore and the library on the alternating Second Saturday between 1 and 3 pm.

The day Gracie loses her favorite book, Elephant finds it. He sniffs the words ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS and--oops--they go up his trunk, where they wiggle and jiggle and make him sneeze. The letters fly through the air helter skelter, and when Elephant tries to put them back together, he can't figure out how to make the right words that fit.
