A new collection of poems by beloved poet Carol Armstrong will be published this spring! Join us and celebrate with her.
Carol Armstrong has written poetry most of her life on the backs of envelopes and the bottom of grocery lists, usually at 3:00 a.m. when the house was quiet. She went to a small school in Rowayton, Connecticut, where the reading and writing of poetry was not considered either odd or esoteric. She attended Smith College, raised three children (or perhaps, she suggests, they raised her), and shared the career of her husband, who, when he retired as President of Middlebury College, maintained he did so in part to allow her more time for her own creative work, which involved both writing and graphic design. She currently lives in Hanover, New Hampshire, though much of her poetry is rooted in their “farm” in Maine.
In her 96th year, Carol continues to participate in the Still Puddle Poets poetry group. Several members of this group have worked with her to publish a new collection of her poems, Rich Remembering. Carol will be at the event and in her honor, fellow poets will read from this book.
