Cindy Pierce | Sexploitation

New Hampshire writer, comedian, and public speaker Cindy Pierce reads from and discusses her new book, Sexploitation: Helping Kids Develop Healthy Sexuality in a Porn-driven World. Young people today are exposed to porn culture everywhere they look. Sexploitation exposes the truth about the seen and unseen influences affecting children and inspires parents to take the role as the primary sexuality educator. Wtih more information, we can all gain the conviction to discuss and develop values, expectation, boundaries, and rules.

Pierce speaks at high schools and college campuses all over the country, where she combines years of research with humor to rattle students’ perspective on the drunken hook-up culture and the pervasive influence of porn. Her goal is to inspire students to consider choices and obstacles impacting sexual relationships. Pierce is the co-author of Finding the Doorbell: Sexual Satisfaction for the Long Haul, runs and owns Pierce's Inn with her husband Bruce, and has three children storming into their teens.

As surprising as it may be to parents, young people today are immersed in porn culture everywhere they look. Through Internet porn, gaming, social media, marketing, and advertising, kids today have a much broader view of social and sexual possibilities, which makes it difficult for them to establish appropriate expectations or to feel adequate in their own sexuality.
