Diane Les Becquets | The Last Woman in the Forest

d les becquetsThough set in the northwest wilderness, The Last Woman in the Forest is based on the Connecticut River Valley Murders of the 1980s when at least six women were stabbed and killed along the Vermont and New Hampshire border. Diane Les Becquets combines her love of nature and wildlife conservation, her personal horrific experience with assault, and her interest in the unsolved murders to deliver a novel of suspense that asks how well we really know another person.

Les Becquets, a former professor of English and MFA director, is an avid outdoorswoman, enjoying backpacking off the grid, snowshoeing, archery, and swimming. A native of Nashville, she spent almost fourteen years living in a small Colorado ranching town before moving to New Hampshire. Breaking Wild, her debut novel, was an Indie Next pick, and received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and Booklist. She is also the author of three young adult novels.
“I raced through this gripping tale in two sittings, only pausing to admire the stunning views of the snowy wilderness. Beautifully paced and twisty.” - Fiona Barton, New York Times bestselling author of The Widow
