Town House Forum
Thursdays in August • 7 pm
The historic eighteenth-century Strafford Town House will again host a provocative reading and discussion series in Strafford, Vermont, on four August evenings. This summer’s series will feature cartoonists, poets, journalists, and writers, and each presentation will be followed by conversations with the audience. Everyone is invited to pack a picnic and come early to have supper on the Strafford Common with the authors, whose books will be offered for sale by the Norwich Bookstore.
Young Journalists and the New Era of Journalism
Come hear a lively discussion about journalism in a time of change with three young journalists - Jane Lindholm, Kit Norton, and Maggie Cassidy - moderated by our own Carin Pratt.
Jane Lindholm is the host for the Vermont Public Radio’s Vermont Edition, producer and host of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids, and former director/producer of Marketplace.
Kit Norton is a reporter for VTDigger, and he previously worked at public radio’s Living on Earth.
Maggie Cassidy is the new editor of The Valley News daily newspaper; she was previously a reporter and web editor for the paper.
Before becoming a bookseller at the Norwich Bookstore, Carin Pratt spent 27 years at CBS News, the last 20 as Executive Producer of Face the Nation. She reads more than anyone we know.
