The Norwich Public Library and the bookstore are thrilled to launch a StoryWalk with David Macaulay's new book Crossing On Time: Steam Engines, Fast Ships, and a Journey to the New World on the day that it is released! A selection of mounted and framed illustrations from the book are on display around the Norwich Square.
StoryWalk is an innovative program created by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition to encourage people of all ages to get out and walk while enjoying wonderful children’s books.
Our StoryWalk project is sponsored by the Norwich Public Library and the Norwich Bookstore with generous funding provided by the Norwich Women’s Club. Pages from Crossing on Time are used with permission from Roaring Brook Press, a division of Holtzbrink Publishing Holdings Limited Partnership.
David Macaulay, co-creator of the international bestseller The Way Things Work, brings his signature curiosity and detailing to the story of the steamship in this meticulously researched and stunningly illustrated book.
